Stolen meteorites recovered

This reads like the intro to a comic book released in the 1940s:

Transylvania sheriff’s officers have made an arrest in a Christmas Eve break-in at Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, and investigators recovered most of the items stolen including rare meteorites.

And, of course, one of the suspects slipped into the night.
